F. GREGORY BARNHART is an honors graduate of Vassar College and The Cornell Law School. He is a frequent lecturer and author in the jury trial field. He is the past president of the Federal Bar Association and was an elected member of the board of directors of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers. Mr. Barnhart has served as treasurer, secretary, and president of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, which is now the Florida Justice Association. In addition, he has been named in The Best Lawyers in America for the past 16 years. He is also listed in Law and Leading Attorneys and has been recognized as one of the ìLegal Eliteî in Florida Trend Magazine, as well as being recognized as one of the ìtop lawyersî in South Florida Magazine, and as one of Florida’s ìTop 100 Superlawyersî. He was a member and former chair of the board of trustees of the Florida Lawyers Action Group, the political arm of the Florida Trial Lawyers, and served on the board of directors of the Academy Foundation. Mr. Barnhart sat on the judicial nominating commission from 1986 to 1990, the group which selects all of the trial judges for Palm Beach County, and was appointed by the Governor to serve on the 4th JNC. In March 1997, Mr. Barnhart was elected to the board of directors of ì1000 Friends of Floridaî, and is now secretary of that organization. This organization’s mission is to protect and improve Florida’s quality of life by advocating responsible planning for the state’s population growth. Mr. Barnhart is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer. Mr. Barnhart has over 65 million-dollar and multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements for his clients in personal injury cases, product liability cases, auto and truck collision cases, medical malpractice cases, aviation and railroad disasters, and large commercial and will contest cases. Mr. Barnhart has also enjoyed teaching lawyers and others about trial work and has lectured regularly in Florida and other states. Indeed, Mr. Barnhart has been honored with the ìDistinguished Lecturerî award by the Florida Justice Association.
